Privacy Policy

Effective September 1, 2026

This Policy explains what CFB Picks LLC collects through Rapid Liar, why we use it, when it may be public, and the choices available to you.

1. Who we are

CFB Picks LLC operates Rapid Liar. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to privacy@rapidliar.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Rapid Liar, we may collect:

  • Account information: email address, authentication provider, provider account identifier, account timestamps, session information, and basic profile information such as a name or profile image when an authentication provider supplies it.
  • Profile and author information: your chosen display name or byline, profile status, publication record, author statistics, and leaderboard results.
  • Gameplay information: rankings, answers, accuracy, confidence score, completion time, streaks, game history, referrals, and share interactions.
  • Friend-group information: group names, memberships, roles, invite metadata, display names, result-sharing preferences, and group standings.
  • Submission information: proposed lies, the subject and edition, editorial and screening status, moderation history, reviewer notes, automated assessments, selection and publication status, and performance if published.
  • Technical information: browser and device information, pages and features used, approximate timestamps, error and diagnostic information, network information, and privacy-protective identifiers or hashes derived from information such as an IP address.
  • Information stored on your device: a player identifier, game state, results, preferences, streak information, and authentication session data stored through browser storage or similar technologies.
  • Communications: messages and information you send when requesting help, exercising privacy rights, or communicating about a submission.

3. Sources of information

We collect information directly from you; automatically from your browser or device when you use Rapid Liar; from Google or Microsoft when you choose their authentication services; from service providers that operate the game; and from public or licensed sources used to verify quotations, screen submissions, investigate disputes, or protect game integrity.

4. How we use information

We use information to operate and secure Rapid Liar; authenticate accounts; save records; score games; manage submissions; screen for duplication, abuse, quality, and possible quotation conflicts; support editorial review; calculate author and community statistics; provide share cards and leaderboards; send requested authentication or service messages; measure product performance; prevent fraud and automation; enforce our Terms; comply with law; and improve the game.

5. Automated screening and editorial review

Submitted lies may be compared with internal reference material and evaluated using automated tools, including machine-learning or artificial-intelligence services. Promising or ambiguous submissions may also be checked against external sources and reviewed by a person. Automated assessments support editorial decisions; they do not guarantee selection or publication.

6. What may be public

Your email address and sign-in details are not displayed publicly by Rapid Liar. If you choose to post a game result, your selected display name, rank, confidence score, and completion time will be public. Members of a private friend group may see the display name, role, and eligible results you choose to share with that group. If you participate as an author, your chosen byline, published or shortlisted status after the applicable edition, author statistics, leaderboard position, and author share cards may also be visible to others. The game may publish an edited version of a selected submission. Do not use a display name or byline, or submit material, that you do not want associated with you publicly.

7. How we disclose information

We may disclose information:

  • to vendors that provide hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, email delivery, content screening, security, and related infrastructure, including Netlify, Supabase, PostHog, Resend, and relevant model providers;
  • to Google or Microsoft when you choose those sign-in methods, subject to their own privacy practices;
  • to contractors or reviewers who need access for moderation, editorial review, security, or support and are subject to appropriate obligations;
  • when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, our rights, or the integrity of the service; and
  • as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or transfer of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Analytics and browser storage

Rapid Liar uses browser local storage to remember game progress, results, account sessions, analytics preferences, and a pseudonymous player identifier. We send limited product events directly to PostHog to understand actions such as game starts, completions, sign-ins, feature use, and shares. We do not intentionally send quote submissions, authentication codes, or email-form contents as analytics event properties, and we configure these events not to create identified PostHog person profiles.

You may disable optional product analytics on this browser below. Rapid Liar also suppresses optional product analytics for visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland; when location is unavailable; or when the browser reports an enabled Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal. Necessary server logs, authentication, fraud prevention, and security processing are not disabled by this choice. Clearing browser storage may reset your analytics preference, local progress, or sign-in session.

9. Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as needed to provide the service you request, based on our legitimate interests in operating and improving Rapid Liar, with your consent where required, and to comply with legal obligations or protect legal rights.

10. Retention and deletion

Account information is generally retained while your account remains active. After a verified deletion request, we aim to delete or de-identify personal account information within 30 days, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or a legal hold. Local browser information remains on your device until you clear it.

Unpublished submissions may be deleted or withdrawn upon request, subject to short-term backup, moderation, and abuse-prevention retention. If a submission has been selected, scheduled, incorporated into a game, or published, we may retain the line, editorial record, game results, aggregated performance, and evidence needed to preserve the edition and resolve rights disputes. On request, we will remove or replace the public byline when reasonably feasible, while retaining de-identified publication and gameplay records. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you.

11. Your choices and rights

You may play without creating an account, choose whether to submit a lie, clear browser storage through your device, and sign out at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection, or to appeal a privacy decision. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To make a request, email privacy@rapidliar.com. We may need to verify your identity. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law. We will respond within the period required by applicable law—generally 45 days for covered U.S. state requests—and will explain any available appeal process if we deny a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

12. U.S. state privacy disclosures

During the preceding 12 months, we may have collected the categories described above: identifiers; internet or electronic-network activity; account, profile, gameplay, and submission information; approximate location inferred from network information; and inferences such as screening, fraud, or gameplay assessments. We collect them from the sources described in Section 3 and use and disclose them for the business purposes described in Sections 4 and 7.

We do not sell personal information for money, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about users. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide legally required choices before the new practice begins.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you use Rapid Liar at your own risk.

14. Children

Rapid Liar is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact privacy@rapidliar.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

15. International users

Rapid Liar is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms or other appropriate safeguards.

Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. CFB Picks LLC is the controller for the processing described in this Policy.

16. Third-party links and services

Rapid Liar may link to or interact with third-party websites and services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

17. Changes

We may update this Policy as the product or law changes. We will post the revised version and effective date and may provide additional notice for material changes when appropriate.
